Growing Trees and Economies in Indonesia
Growing an economy can have its fair share of consequences for nature. East Kalimantan has a 30-year legacy of forest loss and degradation due to increased logging, palm oil production, mining and fire. But at The Nature Conservancy (TNC), we believe that there is economic opportunity in protecting the environment and addressing climate change. We are helping the region develop green growth strategies to sustainably harvest forests while still providing for communities and wildlife.
