Globally, experts predict that one-fourth of the planet’s current species will be headed for extinction by 2050 if the warming trend continues at its current rate. The world’s temperature is rising, the climate is changing and the occurrence of extreme weather events is increasing. In Hong Kong, our coastline stretches 733 km long, making us extremely vulnerable to the resulting rising sea levels and unprecedented storms. Communities across Asia Pacific are facing similar increased risks to their well-being.
To slow down these negative outcomes, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is addressing the vulnerability of coastal communities, protecting natural areas that maintain a habitable Earth, and pursuing projects that keep carbon dioxide out of our atmosphere.
We need your support to help the planet and communities push through the climate challenge.
